- 1 tomato, finely chopped

- 1 cup kabuli chana (white chickpeas), soaked overnight
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 tsp coriander powder (dhania)
- 1 tbsp chana masala powder
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, for cooking

Boil the Chickpeas:
- In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chickpeas and 1 cup of water. Cook on high for 8 whistles until the chickpeas are soft. Let the pressure release naturally.
- Open the cooker, drain the excess water, and set the chickpeas aside.

Cook the Spiced Chickpeas:
- Heat oil in a pan or kadai on medium flame. Add half of the finely chopped onions and sauté until soft.
- Add the ginger garlic paste and cook on low heat until fragrant.
- Stir in the red chili powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.
- Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan, season with salt, and stir to combine.
- Sprinkle in the chana masala powder and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the chickpeas are well-coated with the spices and slightly dry.
