Kare Sapi Krecek Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet Indofood Kare spice mix
  • 250 grams beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • Fried beef skin (krupuk kulit), to taste
  • Cooking oil
  • 400 ml water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef Skin: If your beef skin (krupuk kulit) is raw, start by frying it until crispy. Set aside.

  2. Cook the Shallots: Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped shallots and sauté until they become translucent and fragrant.

  3. Add the Spice Mix: Stir in the Indofood Kare spice mix and cook for a few minutes until the spices are aromatic and well combined with the shallots.

  4. Add the Beef: Incorporate the thinly sliced beef into the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and slightly seared.

  5. Combine and Simmer: Add the fried beef skin to the pan. Pour in the 400 ml of water, stir to combine, and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  6. Simmer Until Tender: Let the curry simmer on low heat until the beef is tender and cooked through, and the flavors meld together. This usually takes about 30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the beef slices.

  7. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the curry and adjust seasoning as needed. You can add salt or a bit more spice mix if desired.

  8. Serve: Serve the Kare Sapi Krecek hot with steamed rice or your favorite side dishes.
