Ingredients

Vegetables

  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1/2 head of napa cabbage, chopped
  • 1/4 head of mustard greens, chopped
  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets

Protein

  • 2 chicken sausages, sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 chicken breast, cleaned and seasoned with salt and pepper, then shredded

Spices and Seasonings

  • 5 large red chilies, sliced
  • 6 cloves of shallots, sliced
  • 5 cloves of garlic, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon flavor enhancer (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce (to taste)

Cooking Essentials

  • 3 teaspoons cooking oil
  • 200 ml water (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Begin by cutting all the vegetables to your desired size. Clean the chicken breast thoroughly, then season it with a bit of salt and pepper. Fry the chicken breast until it is lightly browned, then drain the excess oil and shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Prepare the Aromatics: Slice the shallots, garlic, and red chilies. These can be sliced roughly or finely based on your preference.

  3. Cooking the Aromatics: Heat the cooking oil in a large wok or skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced shallots, garlic, and chilies, stirring until fragrant. When the spices are halfway cooked and aromatic, add the sliced chicken sausages. Cook until the sausages are browned and slightly crispy. Push the aromatics and sausages to the side of the wok.

  4. Cooking the Egg: Crack the egg into the empty space in the wok. Scramble the egg with a little white pepper. Once the egg is fully cooked, mix it with the aromatics and sausages.

  5. Combining Ingredients: Add the shredded chicken and chopped vegetables to the wok. Stir-fry until all the ingredients are well combined and the vegetables begin to soften.

  6. Seasoning and Finishing: Pour in the water and add the salt, white pepper, flavor enhancer, sugar, and sweet soy sauce. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook until the vegetables are tender but still retain some crunch, ensuring the nutrients are preserved. Adjust the seasoning to taste.

  7. Serving: Once everything is cooked to your liking, remove the wok from the heat. Serve the Capjay Sosis Ayam hot, ideally with steamed rice.

Tips

  • For added flavor, you can marinate the chicken breast in a bit of soy sauce and garlic before frying.
  • Adjust the level of spice by varying the amount of red chilies used.
  • Ensure the vegetables are not overcooked to maintain their vibrant color and nutritional value.

Capjay Sosis Ayam is not just a meal; it’s an experience that brings together the freshness of vegetables, the heartiness of chicken, and the delightful taste of sausages. Perfect for weeknight dinners, this dish is sure to become a family favorite. Enjoy this Indonesian culinary delight with your loved ones and savor the rich flavors it has to offer.
