Sate Sapi (Indonesian Beef Skewers)

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams beef (cut into cubes)
  • 200 grams beef liver (cut into cubes)
  • 4 shallots
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade: Begin by finely grinding the shallots, garlic, coriander seeds, black pepper, and salt. You can adjust the quantities according to your taste and the ingredients available at home.

  2. Marinate the Meat: Place the cubed beef and beef liver in a bowl. Pour the ground spice mixture over the meat and liver, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow the mixture to marinate for 5 to 10 minutes, giving the flavors time to infuse.

  3. Skewer the Meat: Thread the marinated beef and beef liver onto skewers. Arrange them neatly, ensuring not to overcrowd the skewers for even cooking.

  4. Prepare the Grill: Heat up a charcoal grill. Once the coals are ready and covered with a light ash, place the skewers on the grill.

  5. Grill the Skewers: Cook the skewers over the charcoal, turning them frequently to ensure even cooking. Grill until the meat is cooked through, but be careful not to let it burn, as this can make the meat tough and chewy.

  6. Serve: Once cooked to your preference, remove the skewers from the grill and serve hot. Enjoy your Sate Sapi with your favorite accompaniments.

This Indonesian-style beef skewer recipe brings a delightful balance of flavors and is perfect for a delicious meal or gathering.
