Empal Daging Sapi is a beloved Indonesian recipe featuring tender slices of beef simmered in a blend of aromatic spices and seasonings. Ingredients

  • 1 kg beef (sirloin or brisket), sliced for empal
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1/2 piece of tamarind (asam gelugur)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 liter hot water

  • 8 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon coriander seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef:
