  • 2 tablespoons palm sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • Salt and granulated sugar (to taste)
For the Additional Spices:
  • 1 bay leaf (daun salam)
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of galangal (crushed)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Beef:

    • Combine the beef with the spice paste ingredients. Ensure the beef is well-coated with the paste. Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Cook the Beef:
