Easy Chicken Tongseng Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 kg chicken, chopped
- 1/4 medium cabbage, sliced
- 15 bird’s eye chilies
- 2 stalks green onions
Spices:
- 10 cloves garlic
- 4 shallots
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 small piece galangal, bruised
- 1 medium piece turmeric, grilled
- 2 small pieces ginger, bruised
- 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
- 1 packet instant coconut milk
- Salt, sugar, broth powder, ground white pepper, soy sauce, and water, to taste
Instructions:

Clean and chop the chicken into pieces. Drain well.

Wash the cabbage, green onions, and bird’s eye chilies. Slice them accordingly.

Bruise the ginger, galangal, and lemongrass. Prepare the cleaned kaffir lime leaves.

Grind the grilled turmeric, shallots, garlic, and salt until smooth.

Sauté the ground spices until fragrant. Add the bruised ginger, galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves. Sauté until wilted and fragrant.

Add the chopped chicken, cook briefly while stirring. Then add enough water to cover the ingredients. Let it boil.

Add the instant coconut milk, season with sugar and broth powder to taste. Cook until the chicken is tender. Adjust the seasoning with soy sauce according to taste.

Add the sliced cabbage, bird’s eye chilies, and green onions. Ready to be served for your beloved family!
