- Fermented Soybean Cake (Oncom): 1 small piece
- Spring Onion (Daun Bawang): 1 stalk
- Dried Red Chilies (Cabe Merah): 5 pieces
- Small Red Chilies (Cabe Rawit Merah): 10 pieces
- Green Small Chilies (Cabe Rawit Hijau): 20 pieces (left whole)
- Shallots (Bawang Merah): 5 cloves
- Garlic (Bawang Putih): 3 cloves
- Bay Leaves (Daun Salam): 3 leaves
- Salt (Garam): to taste
- Seasoning (Penyedap Rasa): optional
- Palm Sugar (Gula Merah): to taste
- White Sugar (Gula Putih): to taste
- Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Bango): to taste
- Cooking Oil: for frying
