Red Popcorn Balls Recipe

🕒 Total Time: 25 minutes
🍽️ Yield: 12 balls

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 3 ounces Jello gelatin (any flavor you prefer)
  • 12 cups popped popcorn

Instructions:

Step Description
1 In a large pot, melt the margarine over medium heat.
2 Add the miniature marshmallows to the pot with the melted margarine. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth. This usually takes a few minutes.
3 Once the marshmallows have melted, add the Jello gelatin to the pot. Stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
4 Pour the melted marshmallow and Jello mixture over the popped popcorn in a large bowl. Make sure all of the popcorn is coated evenly.
5 Using a spoon or your hands (make sure they’re coated with cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking), shape the coated popcorn into 12 balls.
6 Wrap each popcorn ball individually in plastic wrap to keep them fresh.
7 Serve and enjoy your delicious red popcorn balls! They’re perfect for parties, Halloween, or any time you’re craving a sweet treat.

Recipe Notes:

  • You can customize these popcorn balls by using different flavors of Jello gelatin. Try orange for Halloween, or mix and match flavors for a colorful assortment.
  • If you’re making these for a party, consider adding some festive sprinkles or edible glitter for extra flair.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. The popcorn balls may lose their crunchiness over time, but they’ll still be delicious!
