Description:
Haven’t made this recipe for years, but to celebrate Mardi Gras, this was the perfect dessert! It takes a little time, but definitely worth it. This makes enough to feed a large family, so you can adjust the recipe for a smaller family.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups white flour
- 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
- 1 package (3.4 oz) instant lemon pudding mix
- 3 cups milk
- Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions:
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | Set oven at 350 degrees. |
2 | Blend flour, ยฝ cup walnuts, and butter with fork. |
3 | Press into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan. |
4 | Bake for 15 minutes, then cool for 15 minutes. |
5 | In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar with mixer, and blend in a little more than ยฝ tub Cool Whip. |
6 | Layer this mixture on the cooled crust. |
7 | In a bowl, beat pudding and milk until thickened. Set in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. |
8 | Layer pudding on the cheese mixture. |
9 | Top with the remaining Cool Whip, remaining walnuts, and lemon zest. |
10 | Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving. |
