Maharaj Grilled Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken fillet
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 packet Maharaj chicken seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 5 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • For the sambal:
    • Ready-to-use sweet and sour sambal
    • Pineapple crush, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Begin by thoroughly cleaning the chicken fillets and patting them dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the Chicken:

    • In a large bowl, combine the Maharaj chicken seasoning, grated garlic, salt, black pepper, and the juice of one lemon. Mix well to ensure all the spices are evenly distributed.
  3. Marinate:

    • Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken fillets, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Preheat the Grill:

    • Heat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the Chicken:

    • Brush the grill grates with a bit of oil to prevent sticking. Place the marinated chicken fillets on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and has a nice char. This should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.
  6. Prepare the Sambal:

    • While the chicken is grilling, mix the ready-to-use sweet and sour sambal with pineapple crush to taste. Adjust the quantity of pineapple crush based on your preference for sweetness and tanginess.
  7. Serve:

    • Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with the prepared sambal on the side for dipping.
