Prep Time: 8 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 18 minutes
Servings: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 2 cups lettuce, shredded
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Patties:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, and taco seasoning mix. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
    • Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape them into patties.
  2. Assemble the Burgers:

    • Take 6 of the patties and place an even amount of shredded Monterey Jack cheese on each one.
    • Top each cheese-topped patty with one of the remaining patties, pressing the edges to seal them firmly.
  3. Cooking Method:

    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Alternatively, you can use a broiler or a stovetop grill pan.
    • Place the assembled patties on the grill or under the broiler. Cook for about 5 minutes per side, or until the burgers are cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  4. Serve:

    • Once cooked, remove the burgers from the heat and place them on buns.
    • Top each burger with sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and a dollop of sour cream.
    • Optionally, serve with salsa or guacamole on the side for added flavor.
  5. Enjoy Your Taco Burgers!
