Mini Beef Floss Pastel (Pastel Mini Isi Abon Sapi)

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 100 grams butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 packet Royco/masako beef seasoning
  • Water (as needed)
  • A pinch of salt

For the Filling:

  • Beef floss (as needed)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour with the melted butter, beaten egg, and beef seasoning. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well incorporated. Gradually add water a little at a time, mixing until a smooth and pliable dough forms. Season with a pinch of salt.

  2. Prepare the Filling:
Place the beef floss in a bowl and set it aside.

  3. Assemble the Pastels:
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Using a round cutter or a glass, cut out circles of dough. Place a small amount of beef floss in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, pinching the edges together to seal. You can use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch and to ensure they are well sealed.

  4. Fry the Pastels:
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully place the filled pastels into the hot oil. Fry them in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  5. Drain and Serve:
Remove the pastels from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy these crispy, savory Mini Beef Floss Pastels as a delightful snack or appetizer. They are perfect for any occasion and will surely be a hit with your family and friends. Happy cooking! 😘😘
