Pudina Moong Dal Recipe (Mint Moong Dal)
Pudina Moong Dal is a flavorful and aromatic dish that combines the earthy taste of yellow moong dal with the refreshing zest of mint. Cook the Moong Dal:
Related Articles- Start by washing the moong dal thoroughly. In a pressure cooker, add the moong dal, 1 cup of water, and turmeric powder.
- Close the lid and cook on medium heat for about 2 whistles.
- Once done, turn off the gas and allow the pressure to release naturally.
- After opening the cooker, add 1 ½ cups of water to the cooked dal and salt to taste. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes. Once the dal is well-combined, turn off the heat.

Prepare the Tempering (Tadka):
- In a small tempering pan, heat 1 tbsp of ghee over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Next, add a pinch of asafoetida and chopped mint leaves to the hot ghee. Stir-fry for about 10 seconds until the mint leaves become fragrant.
- Add red chili powder and sauté for another 10 seconds to bring out the flavors.

Combine and Simmer:
- Pour the prepared tempering into the cooked dal and mix well. Allow the dal to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes so that the flavors meld together.

- Once done, your Pudina Moong Dal is ready to serve! Pair it with Bhindi Masala, Boondi Raita, and Phulkas (Indian flatbreads) for a complete meal.
