African Salad Recipe 🥗

Description: I have no idea why this is called “African” salad – that’s how it was introduced to me. Please meet: a great idea for a new dish.

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
250g Champignon mushrooms
1 Garlic clove
2 tsp Salt
1/2 can Hearts of palm
1 can Artichoke hearts
1 tbsp Olive oil
1/2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Black pepper
1 tbsp Wine vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Mushrooms:

    • Carefully wash the mushrooms and slice them in half.
  2. Cook Mushrooms:

    • Put the sliced mushrooms into a pot with lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt.
    • Cover the pot and cook on medium heat for about 2 minutes, shaking occasionally.
    • Once cooked, remove from heat.
  3. Prepare Salad Base:

    • Drain the cooked mushrooms and transfer them into a salad bowl.
  4. Prep Palm Hearts:

    • Rinse and drain the hearts of palm. Slice them in half and add them to the bowl with the mushrooms.
  5. Prep Artichoke Hearts:

    • Rinse and drain the artichoke hearts. Slice them in half and add them to the bowl with the other ingredients.
  6. Make Dressing:

    • In a small bowl, blend together olive oil, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and wine vinegar to make the dressing.
  7. Combine Ingredients:

    • Pour the prepared dressing over the salad in the bowl.
    • Gently mix all the ingredients together to ensure the dressing coats everything evenly.
  8. Chill and Serve:

    • Refrigerate the salad for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
    • Once chilled, serve your African Salad and enjoy!
