Ingredients:

4 Salt cod fish
2 Potatoes
6-8 Salt pork
1 Onions
2 Butter
1/4 Onions
2 Flour
2 Water

Instructions:

  1. Preparation:

    • Soak hard bread overnight in cold water.
    • Soak cod overnight in a large pot of water as well.
    • In the morning, change the water on the cod again.
  2. Cooking:

    • When ready to eat, place potatoes in the same pot as the cod and simmer gently until cooked, about 20-30 minutes. Remove from heat and drain.
    • Heat hard bread slowly until it comes to a boil, then drain.
  3. Drawn Butter:

    • Melt butter in a saucepan.
    • Add onions and fry until soft.
    • Add water, bring to a boil, and then add either flour or cornstarch to thicken.
  4. Scrunchins:

    • Place salt pork in a frying pan.
    • Heat over medium heat until grease is drawn from the salt pork.
    • Add onions and cook until tender.
