Nutella® Sweet Cubes – A Delightful Dessert

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sponge:

    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and brown sugar for about 2 minutes using an electric whisk. Add a pinch of salt and continue whisking.
    • Slowly pour in the melted butter (make sure it’s not too hot), and mix until everything is well combined.
    • Stir in the yogurt until smooth.
  2. Incorporate the Dry Ingredients:

    • Sift in the flour and baking powder to the mixture. Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod and add them to the batter.
    • Whisk everything together for a couple of minutes until well combined and smooth.
  3. Bake the Cubes:

    • Grease 6 square-shaped molds (6×6 cm) without a bottom, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Using a piping bag, fill each mold with the batter.
    • Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 20 minutes or until the tops are golden and firm to the touch.
  4. Prepare the Filling:

    • Once the cubes are baked, allow them to cool completely.
    • Carefully cut off the top layer (about 1 cm) of each cube using a serrated knife.
    • With the help of a small paring knife or spoon, hollow out the center of each cube, leaving about 1 cm of sponge around the edge. Set the tops aside.
  5. Make the Mascarpone Cream:

    • In a bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, fresh cream, and vanilla seeds. Add the honey and mix well.
    • Using an electric whisk, beat for just a few seconds until smooth and creamy.
  6. Assemble the Cubes:

    • Transfer the mascarpone cream into a piping bag without a nozzle.
    • Pipe the creamy filling into each hollowed-out cube.
    • Take the tops you set aside earlier and cut them into squares large enough to cover the filled center of the cubes.
    • Place each square on top of the mascarpone filling to close the cubes.
  7. Decorate:

    • Dust the sides of each cube with powdered sugar for a beautiful, snowy effect.
    • Transfer Nutella® to a piping bag fitted with a flat, ridged nozzle (16×2 mm), and decorate the top of each cube with Nutella® in a swirled pattern.
    • Finish with fresh raspberries, currants, thyme leaves, and colorful sugar candies shaped like snowflakes for a festive touch.
  8. Serve & Enjoy:

    • Allow the Nutella® Sweet Cubes to chill for a short while in the fridge before serving. They’re now ready to impress with their delicate flavor and eye-catching presentation!
