Description:

Indulge in the delightful flavors of tender beef, vibrant broccoli, and zesty orange in this quick and healthy Orange Beef & Broccoli recipe. Perfect for busy weeknights, this dish is bursting with freshness and savory goodness.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 scallion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Cooked basmati rice, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together chicken broth, sherry, orange juice, soy sauce, ginger, cornstarch, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes until well combined.

  2. Add thinly sliced beef to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Let it marinate for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef to the skillet, reserving the marinade. Cook the beef, stirring occasionally, for about 3 minutes, or until it’s nicely browned. Then, remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.

  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 teaspoon of olive oil. Add broccoli florets, sliced scallions, and minced garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 2 minutes.

  5. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the skillet and cover it. Let the broccoli steam for about 2 minutes, or until it’s tender-crisp.

  6. Uncover the skillet and add the reserved marinade to the broccoli mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 3 minutes, or until the sauce boils and thickens slightly.

  7. Return the cooked beef to the skillet and toss everything together. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until the beef is heated through.

  8. Serve the Orange Beef & Broccoli over cooked basmati rice and enjoy the burst of flavors!
