Ingredients:

Guava (ripe), chopped 2
Mustard seeds (rai) 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida (hing) 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Turmeric powder 1 tsp
Jaggery (ground) 1 tbsp
Salt To taste
Oil As needed

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes


Instructions:

  1. To make the Amrud Ni Curry, start by heating oil in a pressure cooker over medium heat.
  2. Add mustard seeds and asafoetida to the oil. Let them sizzle for about 10 seconds.
  3. Next, add the chopped guavas to the cooker along with the red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, jaggery, and salt.
  4. Pour in about 1 cup of water, mix everything together, and close the lid of the pressure cooker.
  5. Cook the curry for 3 whistles, then turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally.
  6. Once the pressure has released, open the lid and your delicious Parsi-style guava curry is ready!
