Hard Boiled Eggs Recipe – Perfect for Appetizers

Instructions:

  1. Start with the Eggs: Begin by placing the eggs into a medium-sized saucepan. Make sure all the eggs are intact with no cracks. This is key to ensuring that they cook properly without any leaks.

  2. Add Water: Pour cold water into the pan, ensuring that the water level is enough to cover the eggs completely. This will allow for even cooking.

  3. Boil the Water: Place the pan over medium-high heat and bring the water to a gentle boil. This will take a few minutes depending on your stovetop. Once the water reaches a rolling boil, reduce the heat slightly to prevent the water from splashing over.

  4. Cooking Time: Once the water starts boiling, let the eggs cook for exactly 9 minutes. This timing ensures that the eggs are perfectly hard-boiled, with firm whites and fully cooked yolks.

  5. Cool Down: After 9 minutes, immediately remove the saucepan from the heat. To stop the cooking process, transfer the eggs into a bowl of cold water. You can also use ice-cold water with ice cubes to cool them down more rapidly. This cooling process will make peeling the eggs easier and prevent overcooking.

  6. Peeling the Eggs: Once the eggs are cool to the touch, gently tap them on a hard surface to crack the shell. Begin peeling the shell starting from the wider end, where there’s typically a small air pocket. This will make it easier to remove the shell without damaging the egg white.

  7. Serve: After peeling, the hard-boiled eggs are ready to serve. You can enjoy them as they are, or season them with a pinch of salt and pepper for extra flavor. These eggs are also perfect as an appetizer, snack, or as a topping for salads.

Tip: For an alternative preparation, you can cook the eggs for 7-8 minutes for a slightly softer yolk, commonly known as “medium-boiled” eggs.

Enjoy your perfectly boiled eggs!
