Iced Shakerato Coffee

Coffee 100g
Brown Sugar 50g
Ice Cubes 200g
Ice Cubes (for shaking) 50g

Instructions:

  1. Begin by chilling a martini glass where you’ll serve your Iced Shakerato. You can either leave the glass in the freezer for a few minutes or use ice to cool it down.

  2. While the glass is cooling, take a cocktail shaker and fill it with 8-10 ice cubes. The ice will help create the signature froth when shaken.

  3. Add the brown sugar into the shaker, followed by the freshly brewed coffee. It’s important to add the coffee last to avoid the heat from the coffee melting the ice too much, which could prevent the formation of a thick, frothy layer that defines this drink.

  4. Quickly seal the shaker and start shaking vigorously for about 10-15 seconds. This step is crucial to achieving the ideal frothy texture and coldness.

  5. Once done, place a strainer over the lower part of the shaker to filter out the ice from the coffee. If you don’t have a strainer, you can use a spoon to hold back the ice while pouring.

  6. Finally, pour the perfectly shaken, frothy coffee into your chilled martini glass, and your Iced Shakerato is ready to enjoy!
