Instructions:

Method 1: Pressure Cooker Method

  1. Start by washing the rice thoroughly in water to remove any excess starch.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add the washed rice and 2 cups of water. Season with salt to taste.
  3. Close the pressure cooker lid and cook the rice on high flame until you hear 1 whistle.
  4. Once the whistle sounds, reduce the flame to low and let the rice cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally. Once the pressure has fully released, open the lid, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve.

Method 2: Saucepan Method

  1. Wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 15 minutes.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the soaked rice, 2 cups of water, and salt according to your taste.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once the water boils, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Let the rice cook for 15 minutes.
  5. After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for another 10 minutes to finish cooking.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork, and it is ready to serve.
