Savory Beef Teriyaki with Fresh Salad

Ingredients

  • 300 grams beef – thinly sliced
  • 1 onion – thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic – grated
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger – grated
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Water – as needed

Salad:

  • Carrot – to taste, shredded
  • Cabbage – to taste, thinly sliced
  • Mayonnaise – to taste
  • Sauce – to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Marinade:

    • Thinly slice the beef and place it in a bowl.
    • Grate the garlic and ginger, then add them to the beef slices.
    • Add the sweet soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and ground pepper to the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly.
    • Let the beef marinate for about 1 hour to absorb all the flavors.
  2. Cook the Beef Teriyaki:

    • Thinly slice the onion. Set aside.
    • Heat the cooking oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add half of the sliced onion and sauté until it becomes translucent and fragrant.
    • Add the marinated beef to the pan. Stir well to combine with the sautéed onions.
    • Add water as needed to the pan to keep the beef moist. Cook over medium heat until the water has mostly evaporated and the beef is tender.
    • Add the remaining sliced onion to the pan. Stir briefly to mix.
  3. Prepare the Salad:

    • Shred the carrot and thinly slice the cabbage.
    • In a bowl, combine the shredded carrot, sliced cabbage, mayonnaise, and your preferred sauce. Mix well.
  4. Serve:

    • Serve the beef teriyaki hot with the fresh salad on the side.
