  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 1/2 cups Minute Rice

Instructions

Step Instruction
1 Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
2 Add chopped onion, green pepper, and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until beef is browned and vegetables are tender.
3 Drain excess fat from the skillet.
4 Drain tomatoes, reserving the juice. Add enough water to the tomato juice to make 1 1/2 cups of liquid.
5 Stir in the tomatoes, bay leaf, salt, sugar, and the liquid mixture. Bring to a slow boil.
6 Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes.
7 Stir in the Minute Rice.
8 Cover again and simmer for an additional 5 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
