  • Yield: 1 pie

Ingredients:

Quantity Ingredient
1 Pie crust
6 Marshmallows
24 Chocolate wafers
2/3 cup Milk
3 tbsp Creme de menthe
2 tbsp Creme de Cacao
1 Envelope of Dream Whip (or 300ml whipped cream)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:

    • Crush the chocolate wafers until they resemble fine crumbs.
    • Mix the crushed wafers with melted butter until well combined.
    • Press the mixture firmly into a 9 or 10-inch pie plate to form the crust. Alternatively, line the pie plate with whole wafers, breaking them in half if needed to fill any gaps.
  2. Prepare the Filling:

    • In a saucepan, melt the marshmallows with milk over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth and well combined.
    • Once melted, stir in the creme de menthe and creme de cacao until fully incorporated.
  3. Whip the Cream:

    • Prepare the Dream Whip according to the package instructions, or whip the cream until stiff peaks form.
  4. Combine and Chill:

    • Gently fold the prepared Dream Whip or whipped cream into the marshmallow mixture until evenly distributed.
    • Pour the filling into the prepared crust, spreading it out evenly.
  5. Chill and Serve:

    • Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours, or until set.
    • Before serving, decorate the pie by breaking a chocolate wafer in half and rubbing the edges together over the top of the pie to create a sprinkling of chocolate crumbs.
  6. Variation for Christmas:

    • For a festive twist perfect for Christmas, substitute the creme de menthe with crushed candy canes melted into the milk. This adds a delightful peppermint flavor that’s sure to evoke holiday cheer!

Enjoy this delightful Grasshopper Pie as a refreshing dessert, whether it’s a St. Patrick’s Day tradition or a festive treat during the holiday season. Its creamy texture and indulgent flavors will surely delight your taste buds and leave you craving for more! ๐Ÿฅง๐Ÿซ
