Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the curd (yogurt) along with cumin powder, chaat masala powder, black salt, grated ginger, finely chopped green chili, black pepper powder, asafoetida, and salt to taste.

  2. Pour in chilled water (about 1-1/2 cups or adjust based on your preferred consistency). Using a blender, blend all the ingredients together until smooth and well-combined.

  3. Once the mixture is smooth and frothy, pour the Masala Chaas into a glass.

  4. To finish, sprinkle finely chopped mint leaves and coriander leaves on top of the drink. For an extra burst of flavor, you can also add ground mint if desired.

  5. Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing beverage alongside your meal. Masala Chaas pairs wonderfully with Rajasthani Daal Baati Churma or Mirchi Ke Chhunda, but it also makes a great drink after lunch to aid digestion.

Pro Tip:
For an added touch, chill your curd before preparing to make the drink even more refreshing on hot days. You can also adjust the spice levels to suit your taste by increasing or decreasing the amount of green chili or black pepper.

Enjoy your Masala Chaas, the perfect antidote to the summer heat!
