Ingredients:
Quantity | Ingredient |
---|---|
1 | Mild Italian sausage |
1 can | Italian stewed tomatoes |
1/4 cup | Tomato paste |
1/4 cup | Fresh parsley |
12 oz | Spaghetti |
1/4 cup | Parmesan cheese |
Instructions:
-
Prepare Sausages: Cut sausages into 1/2″ thick slices. (I find it is a lot easier to do this if the sausages are frozen).
-
Brown Sausages: Cook over medium-high heat, turning once, for 5 minutes or until browned. Drain off fat.
-
Prepare Tomato Sauce: In a food processor or blender, puree tomatoes until smooth; pour into the skillet. Add tomato paste and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 7 to 10 minutes or until thickened.
-
Add Parsley: Stir in chopped fresh parsley into the sauce.
-
Cook Spaghetti: Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook spaghetti for about 8 minutes or until tender but firm. Drain and return to the pot.
-
Combine: Add the prepared sauce to the cooked spaghetti; toss to coat evenly.
-
Serve: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and serve hot.
This recipe is perfect for those busy days when you crave a comforting meal without spending hours in the kitchen. Enjoy the deliciousness of “meatballs” with the simplicity of sliced sausages, all served atop a bed of perfectly cooked spaghetti. ๐ฝ๏ธ
