Sautéed Lais Fish with Long Beans in Tauco Sauce

Ingredients

  • 500 grams lais fish, cleaned
  • 1 small bunch long beans, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons tauco (fermented soybeans)
  • 3 red chilies, sliced
  • 3 green chilies, sliced
  • 7 bird’s eye chilies, sliced
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Start by cleaning the lais fish thoroughly, then fry until it is half-dried. Once done, set the fish aside.

  2. Prepare the Long Beans: Wash the long beans and chop them into bite-sized pieces. Set aside for later use.

  3. Sauté the Aromatics: In a pan, heat some oil and sauté the chopped shallots, minced garlic, red chilies, green chilies, and bird’s eye chilies until fragrant.

  4. Add Water and Tauco: Pour in the water and add the tauco, bringing the mixture to a boil. This will create a flavorful base for the dish.

  5. Incorporate the Long Beans: Add the chopped long beans to the pan and cook until they are partially tender.

  6. Combine with Fish: Gently place the fried lais fish into the pan. Season with pepper and your choice of seasoning, stirring to combine all the flavors.

  7. Finish and Serve: Once everything is well mixed and cooked to your liking, turn off the heat. Your sautéed lais fish with long beans in tauco sauce is ready to be served!

Enjoy this delightful dish that combines the savory flavors of tauco with the freshness of long beans and the richness of lais fish. Perfect for a family meal!
