Tumis Caisin Tahu: A Flavorful Stir-Fry with Pakcoy and Tofu

Ingredients:

  • Pakcoy (also known as caisin) – amount as desired
  • Firm tofu – 1 package
  • Royco chicken seasoning – 1 packet
  • Tomato – 1, diced
  • Red chili pepper – 1, sliced
  • Red onion – 3 cloves, finely chopped
  • Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Cooking oil – for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Start by slicing the red onion and mincing the garlic. Dice the tomato and slice the red chili pepper. Wash and cut the pakcoy into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Cook the Tofu: Cut the tofu into small cubes. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the tofu cubes until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. Sauté the Aromatics: In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté the chopped red onion and minced garlic until they become fragrant and translucent.

  4. Add the Vegetables: Add the diced tomato, sliced red chili pepper, and pakcoy to the pan. Stir-fry the mixture until the vegetables are slightly wilted but still crisp.

  5. Combine and Season: Return the fried tofu to the pan. Sprinkle the Royco chicken seasoning over the tofu and vegetables. Pour in ½ cup of water and stir to combine.

  6. Simmer and Serve: Let the mixture simmer until the vegetables are tender and the tofu is heated through. Adjust seasoning if needed.

  7. Final Touches: Once everything is well-cooked and flavorful, transfer to a serving dish and enjoy this delicious Tumis Caisin Tahu with steamed rice or as a stand-alone dish.

This easy and tasty stir-fry combines the crunchy freshness of pakcoy with the savory flavor of tofu, enhanced by a blend of aromatic spices and seasoning. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal or a nutritious addition to any meal plan!
