Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of beef, cooked and sliced thinly
  • 250 grams of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 large red chili, sliced
  • 4 large shallots, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, crushed
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of galangal, crushed
  • 1 packet of Saori oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Masako seasoning (or any bouillon powder)
  • A pinch of coriander powder
  • 300 ml water or beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons fried shallots (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Thinly slice all the shallots, garlic, and onion.
    • Slice the pre-cooked beef into thin strips.
    • Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.
    • Crush the ginger and galangal.
  2. Sauté Aromatics:

    • Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add the sliced shallots, garlic, onion, ginger, and galangal. Sauté until fragrant and the shallots are slightly softened.
  3. Cook the Beef:

    • Add the sliced beef to the pan and stir well. Pour in the oyster sauce and stir to coat the beef evenly.
  4. Simmer and Season:

    • Add the water or beef broth to the pan. Season with salt, sugar, coriander powder, and Masako seasoning. Stir well and let it simmer, allowing the flavors to meld and the liquid to reduce slightly.
  5. Add Broccoli and Chili:

    • Once the liquid has reduced a bit, add the broccoli florets and sliced red chili. Stir well until the broccoli is slightly tender but still crisp.
  6. Finish and Serve:

    • Once the broccoli is cooked to your liking, remove the pan from heat. If desired, sprinkle fried shallots on top for added texture and flavor.
  7. Garnish and Enjoy:

    • Serve the Beef and Broccoli Yakiniku hot, accompanied by steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy the savory, spicy, and aromatic flavors of this quick and delightful dish!
