Rolade of Beef and Chicken
This delectable Rolade of Beef and Chicken combines the savory richness of beef with the tender succulence of chicken, all wrapped in a delicate egg crepe. Perfect for a hearty meal, this dish is a fantastic option for gatherings or a comforting family dinner. Here’s how to prepare it:

Ingredients
- 300 grams of beef
- 200 grams of chicken
- 8 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 onion (medium-sized)
- 1/4 large red onion or 3 small red onions
- 5 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
- 3-4 teaspoons of salt
- 2 teaspoons of ground black pepper
- Aluminum foil for steaming
For the Egg Crepe Layer:
- 2 eggs
- 30 ml of milk (optional; can be omitted for a lighter option)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
-
Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- Begin by grinding the beef and chicken together. If you don’t have a grinder, you can use a food processor to achieve a similar result.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and chicken with minced garlic, finely chopped onion, and red onion. Mix until well incorporated.
- Add the breadcrumbs, salt, and ground black pepper to the meat mixture. Knead the mixture until it’s well blended and slightly sticky.
-
Prepare the Egg Crepe:
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk (if using), and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour a small amount of the egg mixture into the pan, swirling it around to form a thin crepe. Cook until the edges start to lift, then flip and cook the other side briefly. Repeat until you have a couple of egg crepes. Set aside to cool.
-
Assemble the Rolade:
- Place one of the egg crepes on a flat surface. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the crepe.
- Carefully roll the crepe with the meat mixture inside, using the edge of the crepe to help form a tight roll.
- Wrap the rolled mixture tightly in aluminum foil, making sure to seal the ends. This will help maintain its shape while cooking.
-
Steam the Rolade:
- Preheat your steamer.
- Place the wrapped rolade in the steamer basket. Steam for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked through.
- Once done, remove the rolade from the steamer and let it cool slightly before unwrapping.
-
Serve:
- Once cooled, carefully unwrap the aluminum foil and slice the rolade into pieces.
- Serve warm as a main dish, accompanied by your favorite sides or a fresh salad.
This Rolade of Beef and Chicken offers a delightful mix of flavors and textures, perfect for any meal. Enjoy the blend of juicy meats and savory egg crepe in every bite!
