Beef and Potato in Sweet Soy Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams fresh beef, finely chopped
  • 750 grams potatoes, cut into small cubes and deep-fried until golden brown
  • 10 shallots, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons sweet soy sauce (adjust to taste)
  • Mushroom seasoning powder (optional)
  • Cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped shallots and garlic, sautéing until they become fragrant and translucent.

  2. Cook the Beef:
Add the finely chopped beef to the pan with the shallots and garlic. Continue to sauté, stirring occasionally, until the beef changes color and begins to brown.

  3. Add Flavorings:
Pour in the sweet soy sauce, stirring to coat the beef evenly. Add salt, sugar, and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

  4. Incorporate Potatoes:
Add the pre-fried potato cubes to the pan. Stir well to combine, ensuring that the potatoes are coated with the sauce and mixed thoroughly with the beef.

  5. Season and Simmer:
If using, sprinkle in the mushroom seasoning powder. Adjust the seasoning if needed, adding more sweet soy sauce if you prefer a sweeter flavor. Continue to cook, allowing the mixture to simmer until the flavors meld and the sauce thickens slightly.

  6. Finish and Serve:
Once the beef is cooked through and the potatoes have absorbed the flavors, remove from heat. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy warm.

This hearty dish is a perfect blend of savory beef and crispy potatoes, all coated in a deliciously sweet and flavorful sauce. Ideal for a satisfying meal any day of the week!
