Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 12 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 cup water (or enough to cover the sausages)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Aromatics: Begin by peeling and finely slicing the large onion and garlic cloves. In a large skillet or wok, heat a generous amount of oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the sliced onion and garlic, stirring frequently. Sauté until they become fragrant and the onions turn golden brown, which should take about 3-4 minutes.

  2. Cook the Bratwurst: While the onions and garlic are cooking, slice the beef bratwurst into bite-sized pieces. Once the onions are golden and aromatic, add the bratwurst to the skillet. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the bratwurst pieces are browned on all sides.

  3. Season and Simmer: Sprinkle in the black pepper, salt, and white sugar. Stir to evenly coat the bratwurst pieces with the seasonings. Gently add the baby pakcoy to the skillet with the bratwurst, stirring to incorporate. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the pakcoy is wilted but still crisp.
