Beef Bowl Gyudon
Ingredients:
- 250 grams beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 50 ml water
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons palm sugar
- 200 ml chicken broth (optional, can be skipped)
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- A small amount of grated ginger
- 1 scallion, chopped
- 1 bowl cooked white rice
- 2 soft-boiled eggs
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef: In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the thinly sliced beef sirloin. Cook until the meat changes color. Remove the beef from the pot and drain.
-
Make the Sauce: In a separate skillet, combine the water, soy sauce, lemon juice, and palm sugar. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a boil. If using, add the chicken broth and stir in the grated ginger and sliced onion. Allow it to simmer until the onions soften.
-
Cook the Beef: Add the pre-cooked beef sirloin to the skillet. Cover and cook for a few minutes, letting the flavors meld and the sauce reduce slightly.
-
Assemble the Dish: Place a serving of white rice in a bowl. Top with the beef gyudon mixture, including some of the sauce. Garnish with chopped scallions and place a soft-boiled egg on top.
-
Serve: Enjoy your delicious Beef Bowl Gyudon!
