Beef Bowl Gyudon

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 50 ml water
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons palm sugar
  • 200 ml chicken broth (optional, can be skipped)
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • A small amount of grated ginger
  • 1 scallion, chopped
  • 1 bowl cooked white rice
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef: In a pot, bring water to a boil and add the thinly sliced beef sirloin. Cook until the meat changes color. Remove the beef from the pot and drain.

  2. Make the Sauce: In a separate skillet, combine the water, soy sauce, lemon juice, and palm sugar. Heat the mixture over medium heat until it reaches a boil. If using, add the chicken broth and stir in the grated ginger and sliced onion. Allow it to simmer until the onions soften.

  3. Cook the Beef: Add the pre-cooked beef sirloin to the skillet. Cover and cook for a few minutes, letting the flavors meld and the sauce reduce slightly.

  4. Assemble the Dish: Place a serving of white rice in a bowl. Top with the beef gyudon mixture, including some of the sauce. Garnish with chopped scallions and place a soft-boiled egg on top.

  5. Serve: Enjoy your delicious Beef Bowl Gyudon!
