Beef Steak with Black Pepper Sauce

Ingredients

Marinade:

  • 500 grams of beef steak (tenderloin preferred)
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Black Pepper Sauce:

  • 1/2 onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 5 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (dissolved in water)
  • Water as needed

Instructions

Preparing the Beef Steak:

  1. Cutting the Beef:
Slice the beef into 1 cm thick strips or steaks. This thickness ensures a good balance between tenderness and a juicy bite.

  2. Marinating:
In a bowl, combine the white pepper, black pepper, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well. Place the beef strips into the marinade and ensure they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to allow the flavors to infuse.

  3. Cooking the Beef:
Preheat a non-stick skillet or a Happycall pan over low heat. Place the marinated beef into the pan, cooking each side until done to your liking. The cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the steak and your preferred level of doneness. Brush with black pepper sauce as it cooks for added flavor.

Making the Black Pepper Sauce:

  1. Sautéing:
Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and the onion is translucent.

  2. Preparing the Sauce:
To the sautéed onions and garlic, add the oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, chicken bouillon powder, salt, sugar, black pepper, and white pepper. Stir well to combine.

  3. Adjusting the Consistency:
Pour in enough water to reach your desired sauce consistency. Let it simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  4. Thickening:
Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce has thickened to your preference. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

  5. Serving:
Once the beef steaks are cooked, transfer them to a serving plate. Pour the black pepper sauce over the steaks or serve it on the side. Enjoy your meal!

This Beef Steak with Black Pepper Sauce offers a delectable combination of savory flavors and is perfect for a hearty meal. The marinated steak, when paired with the rich, aromatic black pepper sauce, makes for an impressive dish that’s both satisfying and elegant.
