  • 1 cup (240 milliliters) milk
  • 1 (8-ounce/225-gram) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons (30 milliliters) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 milliliter) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 milliliter) fresh ground black pepper

For the Pie Crust:

  • 2 1/2 cups (310 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 milliliters) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 milliliters) sugar
  • 1/2 cup (115 grams) butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup (115 grams) shortening, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup (60 milliliters) cold water

For the Egg Wash:

  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    Begin by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, sliced mushrooms, and chopped onion to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is well browned and the mushrooms and onions are tender, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.

  2. Create the Stroganoff Mixture:
    Lower the heat to medium and stir in the butter and shortening. Once melted, add the milk and cook until the mixture begins to thicken, about 2 minutes.
