Ingredients:
- 500 grams beef (trimmed of fat): Slice thinly, about 2mm thick.
- 1 green bell pepper: Cut into cubes or strips.
- 1 yellow bell pepper: Cut into cubes or strips.
- 1 onion: Sliced thinly.
- For the spice paste:
- 7 cloves red shallots
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- Salt and sugar to taste
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Beef: Thinly slice the beef into approximately 2mm strips. Wash the sliced beef thoroughly and drain well.
-
Cook the Spice Paste: Heat a little olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the spice paste ingredients—red shallots, garlic, and ground black pepper. Sauté until the mixture is fragrant.
-
Simmer the Beef: Pour about 150cc of water into the pan with the sautéed spice paste. Add the sliced beef. Cover and let it simmer until the beef is cooked through and the water has mostly evaporated.
-
Season the Beef: Add a bit of salt, sugar, sweet soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Cover and cook until the beef is tender and the flavors are well combined.
-
Add Vegetables: Stir in the green bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, and sliced onion. Cook briefly, just until the vegetables are slightly tender and mixed well with the beef.
-
Serve: Turn off the heat and transfer the Beef Teriyaki to a serving dish. Serve hot with a side of warm rice for a complete meal.
