Beef Teriyaki Recipe 🐄

Discover the rich flavors of Beef Teriyaki with this delicious and easy-to-follow recipe. Combining tender beef with aromatic spices and a savory teriyaki sauce, this dish is perfect for a satisfying meal any day of the week.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams (1/4 kg) beef sirloin or your preferred cut
  • 2-4 green chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)
  • 4 kaffir lime leaves
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • Teriyaki sauce, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 3 teaspoons margarine
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 3 candlenuts

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat:

    • Slice the beef as thinly as possible. For ease, place the beef in the freezer until it is firm but not frozen solid. This will make it easier to slice thinly. Once sliced, rub the beef with lime juice to remove any gamey smell and to enhance the flavor.
  2. Prepare the Spice Paste:

    • Blend the salt, garlic, shallots, ground coriander, and candlenuts into a fine paste. You can use a mortar and pestle or a food processor for this step.
  3. Prepare the Vegetables and Aromatics:

    • Slice the green chilies into thin strips, tear the kaffir lime leaves into smaller pieces, and slice the onion. Set aside.
  4. Cook the Spice Paste:

    • Heat margarine in a large pan over medium heat. Add the spice paste and sauté until fragrant and the paste starts to brown.
  5. Add the Vegetables:

    • Add the sliced green chilies, kaffir lime leaves, onion, and any other desired vegetables to the pan. Cook for a few minutes until the onions are translucent and the vegetables are tender.
  6. Cook the Beef:

    • Add the sliced beef to the pan and cook until it is half-done. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  7. Add the Teriyaki Sauce:

    • Pour in the teriyaki sauce according to your taste preference. Add a small amount of water if necessary to create a little sauce for the dish.
  8. Simmer and Adjust:

    • Adjust the seasoning with sugar and salt to taste. Allow the dish to simmer until the sauce has reduced and thickened, and there is minimal liquid remaining.
  9. Serve:

    • Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot. This Beef Teriyaki pairs wonderfully with steamed rice or as part of a larger meal.

Enjoy the savory and slightly sweet flavors of this Beef Teriyaki recipe, which brings a touch of delicious Asian cuisine to your table.
