With a preparation time of just 15 minutes and a total cooking time of 3 hours, this recipe is ideal for those seeking a delicious meal in under 4 hours. Ingredients:
- 3-4 pounds beef brisket
- 2 onions
- 1 can of beer
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
-
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). -
Prepare Baking Pan:
Line a 13×9 inch baking pan with foil, ensuring there’s enough overlap to cover the brisket later. -
Prep Brisket:
Place the trimmed brisket in the prepared pan. Cover the brisket with sliced onions and season generously with salt and pepper. -
Beer Mixture:
Reserve 1/3 cup of beer and set it aside. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining beer, brown sugar, black pepper, minced garlic, and dried thyme. -
Pour Over Brisket:
Pour the beer mixture over the brisket, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Cover the brisket with foil to seal in the flavors. -
Bake:
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork. -
Prepare Sauce:
While the brisket is baking, prepare the sauce. Reserve about 1/2 cup of drippings from the pan and combine it with the reserved 1/3 cup of beer and flour in a medium saucepan. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. -
Heat Sauce:
Heat the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is bubbly and thickened to your desired consistency. -
Serve:
Once the brisket is cooked to perfection, serve it hot with the delicious beer sauce drizzled on top. Enjoy the tender and flavorful Tipsy Brisket with your favorite sides!
