Beef Steak with Black Pepper Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams beef steak (adjust quantity based on preference)
  • Cooking oil, margarine, or butter for grilling
  • For Marinade:
    • Salt to taste
    • Black pepper to taste
  • For Black Pepper Sauce:
    • 1 onion, thinly sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
    • 1/2 cup button mushrooms (optional)
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
    • 4 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
    • 400 ml water
    • Black pepper to taste
    • Salt to taste (be cautious with the amount)
    • Cornstarch solution (for thickening)
    • Cooking oil, margarine, or butter for sautéing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Rub the beef steak with salt and black pepper. Place it in a sealed container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
    • Once marinated, heat a grill pan and brush it lightly with margarine. Grill the steak until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a pan, heat a bit of margarine or oil over medium heat. Sauté the sliced onion and garlic until fragrant.
    • Add the mushrooms (if using) and cook until they are tender.
    • Stir in the soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Pour in the water and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil.
    • Once boiling, adjust the seasoning with black pepper and salt to taste.
    • Allow the sauce to simmer until the mushrooms are cooked and the liquid has reduced slightly.
    • Gradually add the cornstarch solution while stirring until the sauce reaches your desired thickness.
    • Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  3. Serve:

    • Pour the black pepper sauce over the grilled steak. Serve with fried potatoes, a fresh salad, and chili sauce on the side.
