Sautéed Chayote with Beef Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 chayote (labu siam)
  • 10 beef meatballs
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 shallots
  • 4 bird’s eye chilies
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

Preparation Steps

  1. Prepare the Chayote: Peel the chayote under running water to prevent the sap from sticking. Once peeled, slice the chayote as desired.
  2. Salt the Chayote: Sprinkle a little salt on the sliced chayote and massage gently. Let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. Slice the Meatballs: Cut the beef meatballs into desired pieces.
  4. Sauté Aromatics: In a pan, heat a little oil and sauté the finely sliced garlic, shallots, and bird’s eye chilies until fragrant and softened.
