Ingredients:
- 2 cups cake flour
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1 egg
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
Instructions:
-
Preheat: Preheat your oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F). Grease a muffin tray and set aside.
-
Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the grated cheddar cheese until well combined.
-
Prepare Wet Ingredients: In a separate measuring cup, crack the egg and top it up with milk until it reaches 250ml. Beat the egg and milk mixture slightly until combined.
-
Combine Ingredients: Add the egg and milk mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a soft but firm dough forms. If the dough seems too dry, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency.
-
Form Puffs: Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, portion the dough into the greased muffin tray, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
-
Bake: Place the muffin tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese puffs are golden brown on top and cooked through.
-
Serve: Remove the cheese puffs from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm as a delicious snack or alongside your favorite meals.
Recipe Notes:
- These cheese puffs are best enjoyed fresh from the oven but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Simply reheat them in the oven or microwave before serving.
- Feel free to customize these cheese puffs by adding herbs or spices to the dough for extra flavor.
- If you’re serving these cheese puffs as part of a meal, they pair beautifully with cold meats, salads, or soups.
