- 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced

- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Seasoning to taste

6. | In a jug, whisk together the egg yolk, eggs, milk, and seasonings until well combined. |
7. | Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered bread in the dish. |
8. | Cover the dish and let it sit for a minimum of 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, to allow the bread to soak up the custard mixture. |
9. | Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). |
10. | Uncover the bread pudding and bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard has set. |
11. | Once baked, remove the pudding from the oven and sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top for a burst of freshness. |
