Chicken Breast with Tofu Skin Roll
Ingredients:

- 1 chicken breast
- 5-6 sheets of tofu skin (can be soaked in water or steamed to soften)
- Sesame oil
- 3 scallions (or more if preferred), finely chopped
- 5 cloves garlic (or more if preferred), minced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Totole seasoning (optional)
- 1 block of silk tofu, cut into strips (optional)
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Chicken:
- Slice the chicken breast lengthwise into thin strips.
- Season the chicken strips with chopped scallions, minced garlic, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, and optional Totole seasoning. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
-
Prepare the Tofu Skin:
- Soften the tofu skin by soaking it in water or steaming it until pliable.
-
Assemble the Rolls:
- Lay out the softened tofu skin sheets on a flat surface. Place a seasoned chicken strip and a strip of silk tofu (if using) on each tofu skin sheet.
- Carefully roll up the tofu skin around the chicken and tofu, similar to rolling a spring roll or lumpia.
-
Steam the Rolls:
- Arrange the rolls on a steaming rack or plate and steam for approximately 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the tofu skin is tender.
-
Final Touches:
- If there are leftover chicken strips after rolling, heat a small amount of oil in a pan and sauté the remaining chicken until cooked through and slightly crispy.
-
Serve:
- Serve the steamed chicken and tofu skin rolls warm. Enjoy the tender and flavorful rolls as a delightful main course or appetizer.
This recipe combines the delicate texture of tofu skin with the savory flavors of marinated chicken, creating a dish that’s both satisfying and unique. Perfect for a special meal or a tasty treat!
