Simple Tahu Bakso Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg boneless, skinless chicken breast, finely chopped
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons tapioca flour
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • A pinch of white pepper
  • A pinch of mushroom stock powder
  • A splash of ice-cold water
  • 10 pieces of firm tofu, sliced on one side

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: Place the finely chopped chicken breast, egg white, minced garlic, white pepper, mushroom stock powder, and a splash of ice-cold water into a food processor or chopper. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  2. Mix in Tapioca Flour: Transfer the blended chicken mixture into a mixing bowl. Add the tapioca flour and stir until the mixture is evenly incorporated.

  3. Stuff the Tofu: Take the firm tofu and slice one side open to create a pocket. Gently press the tofu to make space inside. Fill each tofu pocket with the prepared chicken mixture. Repeat this process until all the tofu pieces are filled.

  4. Steam the Tofu: Arrange the stuffed tofu in a steamer basket. Steam over medium heat for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken mixture is fully cooked.

  5. Serve: The stuffed tofu can be enjoyed immediately after steaming or fried to a crispy golden brown if preferred. Serve hot and enjoy!
