| 2 shallots, ground | |
| 1 curly red chili, ground with the shallots |
| Bacem Tempe | |

| 1 block of tempeh, cut as desired and scored for marinating | |
| Sweet soy sauce, to taste | |
| 2 tablespoons of palm sugar | |
| Water (enough for simmering) |
| Spices for Bacem | |

| 2 cloves of garlic, ground | |
| 3 shallots, ground | |
| 1 teaspoon of coriander | |
| Salt and sugar, to taste |

Prepare the Corn Fritters (Bakwan):
Related Articles- In a mixing bowl, combine the corn kernels, tepung bakwan, chopped celery, and ground shallots and chili. Gradually add water until the mixture reaches a slightly thick consistency.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Using a spoon, drop the batter into the hot oil, frying one tablespoon at a time. Cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels. Set aside for serving.
