Tempe Goreng Gurih

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tempe 1 block
Garlic 2-3 cloves
Turmeric 1 cm piece
Coriander To taste
Salt To taste
Water As needed
Cooking Oil For frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Cut the tempe into your desired shape, whether slices or cubes, to enhance texture and flavor during frying.

  2. Wash and Peel: Clean the garlic and turmeric thoroughly, ensuring all dirt is removed, and peel them to prepare for blending.

  3. Blend the Spices: In a mortar or blender, combine the garlic and turmeric, adding salt and coriander to taste. Blend until you achieve a smooth paste. If the mixture is too thick, gradually add a little water to reach a desired consistency.

  4. Marinate the Tempe: Coat the cut tempe pieces with the spice mixture, ensuring each piece is evenly covered. Let it sit for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.

  5. Fry the Tempe: Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the marinated tempe into the oil. Fry until the tempe turns a beautiful golden-brown color, which should take about 5-7 minutes.

  6. Serve: Once cooked, remove the tempe from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve hot as a delicious side dish or a savory snack. Enjoy the rich flavors and delightful crunch!
