Kembang Telor (Egg Flower Soup)

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • 1 small shallot
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Begin by finely chopping the garlic and shallot. In a bowl, lightly beat the egg and set it aside.

  2. Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and shallot to the pan. Sauté them until they become fragrant and turn a golden brown color.

  3. Pour the water into the pan with the sautéed garlic and shallot. Season with salt and sugar, adjusting the quantities to your taste. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. Once the mixture is boiling, gently pour in the beaten egg while stirring continuously. This will create a delicate, silky texture in the soup. Continue to stir until the egg is fully cooked and the soup has thickened slightly.

  5. Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Allow it to simmer for a moment longer if needed, then remove from heat.

  6. Serve the Kembang Telor hot, and enjoy this simple yet comforting dish.
