Fish Ball Tofu Soup (Sup Tahu Baso Ikan)

Ingredients:

  • 1 block Chinese tofu, cut into cubes
  • 3 fish balls, sliced in half
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk green onion, sliced
  • 500 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Seasonings:
    • 1/2 teaspoon mushroom seasoning
    • A pinch of salt
    • A pinch of pepper
    • A pinch of sugar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aromatics: Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant and golden brown.

  2. Cook the Fish Balls: Add the sliced fish balls to the pan and stir briefly to combine with the garlic.

  3. Add Liquids: Pour in the water and add the tofu cubes. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil.

  5. Finish with Green Onions: Add the sliced green onion to the soup. Stir well and turn off the heat.
