  3. Coat the meat evenly with a mixture of flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour cooking oil into the skillet. Add the ribs and brown slowly on both sides.
  5. While the meat is browning, prepare the meat broth.
  6. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, cayenne pepper, cloves, allspice, bay leaf, and garlic to the broth mixture. Finely chop the onions.
  7. Place the browned ribs into the roasting pan.
  8. Pour the broth mixture over the browned ribs and add the chopped onions.

  12. In a screw-top jar, mix 1/4 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of flour. Cover the jar tightly and shake until the mixture is well blended.
  13. Bring the liquid in the saucepan to a boil. While stirring constantly, slowly pour half of the flour mixture into the cooking liquid.

  15. Spoon or pour about half of the hot sauce over the spareribs on the platter.
  16. Serve the remaining sauce in a gravy boat if desired.
  17. Serve the tender Schweinsteak ribs with Spaetzle for a complete and satisfying meal.
